Using CDPs MyJobs system, local building contractors get details of their jobs sent directly to a Pocket PC. Once a job is finished, the contractor fills in the details and collects the customer's signature on their Pocket PC, and moves straight on to the next job. By removing the need for contractors to come into the office to send and receive job information, this system is already saving time and money. Interface design was very important for this project, since it was vital that the builders could quickly and easily view and record job details. We are very pleased with the reaction to the application. At a time when many mobile applications are still seen as executive toys, MyJobs is a real-world practical example of how a mobile application can save time and money.
