CDP Puts AtticFutura on-line

AtticFutura publishes youth and entertainment magazines, such as TV Hits and Inside Soap. CDP have recently delivered to AtticFutura an Advertisement Booking System.

This system, written in Visual Basic over SQL Server, automates the booking process and generates management reports. The system was required to accept bookings spanning multiple issues and to keep track of the production costs for each booking, to restrict access to program functionality both by job function and magazine group, and to maintain a database of agencies and advertisers. Booking confirmations were to be printed for client signature, and reports were required to show the space sold in future issues and also to show current sales against historical sales.

Using a combination of their previous experience with similar systems and their in-house developed Application Template, CDP were able to complete the project in only three months.

To the exiting reports CDP added their report generator package, allowing on-screen reports to be constructed as required and the result to be 'drilled down' to four levels, and an audit report facility which enabled the tracing of the change history of a booking.

Due to the CDP practice of Continous Customer Involvement (CCI), no changes at all were requested during the acceptance period. Even after the system had gone live, the only changes required were extensions to the reporting facility as Financial Managers came to realise the extent of the business information now available.
